Purdue has the first of three anticipated NLIs this morning as Aaron Wheeler, a 6’8” 200 pound wing from Connecticut has faxed in his NLI and is now officially a Boiler.

Wheeler comes to Purdue from Brewster Academy, a private boarding school in New Hampshire, but he is a New England native having grown up in Connecticut. He is a consensus 3-star recruit that is rated 204th nationally according to 247 Sports.
Wheeler comes to Purdue next season likely as a poor man’s Vincent Edwards. He can score the basketball from all over the floor, but has good size to be able to rebound as well. He can also run the floor well, which is something that would be of great benefit next year. His amount of playing time likely depends on if Edwards returns for his senior season.
Wheeler will likely play the three or the four while at Purdue, but seems more suited for the three.
