Caleb Swanigan Named Big Ten Player of the Week

For the first time in his career, Caleb Swanigan has been named the Big Ten Player of the Week:

Biggie has had a double-double in all but one game this season, and that was a 20 point, 8 rebound, 4 assist game against Villanova. He gets the award this week after three double-doubles last week, including a virtually perfect performance against NJIT. He had 22 points, 13 rebounds, 3 assists, and he did not miss a shot (6 for 6 from the field and 10 for 10 from the line).

In what was probably a travesty of justice, Carsen Edwards was NOT named the Freshman of the Week, as that went to Miles Bridges of Michigan State. Edwards has scored 40 points in his last two games, but it was not enough to best Bridges, who averaged over 19 points per game in the Battle 4 Atlantis Tournament. he also had 15 rebounds against St. John’s
