Earlier today Bob Kravits with WTHR Channel 13 in Indianapolis reported that PJ Fleck appeared to be headed to Purdue. Later on, Gold and Black Illustrated denied that Fleck was coming. With good reason too. They have always maintained that Fleck was going to wait until the end of the season before announcing anything and with good reason. His team still has a game to play against Ohio in the MAC championship in six days, and I find it unlikely he will announce any move before hand.
That has not stopped the speculation train, however, as now WISH-TV is on board:
It's early, BUT: A source tells me Western Michigan head coach P.J. Fleck will take over as Purdue football head coach next season @WISH_TV— Meghan McKeown (@Meghan_WISH8) November 26, 2016
Let me reiterate in as clear of language as I can:
WE KNOW NOTHING FOR SURE. THE STAFF OF HAMMER AND RAILS IS ONLY REPORTING WHAT WE SEE AND WE HAVE NO INSIDE SOURCES WHATSOEVER. WHEN THERE IS A FOR SURE ANNOUNCEMENT IT WILL LIKELY COME FROM THE AWESOME PEOPLE AT GBI OR SOME OTHER, MORE REPUTABLE NEWS SOURCE BECAUSE WE HAVE NO INSIDE SOURCES AND ARE REALLY A BUNCH OF JACKASSES.
So, that is where we are.
