2017 Purdue Basketball Recruiting: Nojel Eastern To Decide Tomorrow

Reports say the top 100 guard is down to DePaul and Purdue

NCAA Basketball: Villanova at Purdue Sandra Dukes-USA TODAY Sports

The early signing period is almost over, but there is still time for Purdue to gain a fourth member in its 2016 recruiting class. Purdue has long been after top 100 guard Nojel Eastern, and it should find out its fate tomorrow:

This seems like a no brainer. Purdue is regularly in the NCAA Tournament and in the top half of a power conference. DePaul is... well, DePaul. They haven’t even made the tournament in 12 years and haven’t won more than 12 games in a season in 10 years. they are pretty much a national punchline for college basketball, but since Nojel Eastern is from Chicago (Evanston, to be exact) there is the hometown draw factor.

Purdue has recruited Eastern well and GBI has often reported that Eastern has been high on the Boilermakers. There was some speculation on whether he would sign during the early period, but it looks like those questions have been answered.
