Purdue Football Recruiting: Mark Stickford Commits

We are obligated to keep you updated on these things.

NCAA Football: Purdue at Maryland Tommy Gilligan-USA TODAY Sports

CDH and staff have landed an in state commit. Mark Strickford, from Carmel, Indiana committed on Sunday. He is a 6’6” Offensive Tackle, that is not yet ranked by Rivals. He has the frame to put some weight on, but as of now he weighs only 250 pounds. I would imagine the goal would be to get him in the mid 280’s. With the young tackles we have, he will probably end up red shirting his first year on campus.

He has many offers, so it could be plausible that he has a high ceiling on his thin frame. Other offers include: Cincinnati, UCF, Toledo, Ball State. With Purdue being his only B1G offer, maybe his dream was to play in the B1G. He seems to be a bright kid with offers from Princeton, Harvard & Yale.

Strickford gives us our 14th commitment for the 2017 class. Maybe we are getting so many because of the new facility being built or the degree programs we offer. With the play from Saturday, it isn’t because of the coaching or play on the field. As of now, we are on Hazell watch.

Welcome aboard Mark, hopefully you will help right the ship. Enjoy some highlights below.
