According to Gold and Black Illustrated, Darrell Hazell has been fired by Purdue today:

After only accumulating 9 wins over 3 and half seasons, many fans were fed up with Hazell’s performance and his failure to show any sort of progress on the field. At the moment, we’re unsure who will be the interim head coach, but we will keep you updated. Update: Wide receivers coach, Gerad Parker, will be the interim coach.
While most of us are glad that Hazell has been fired, the football program will make no progress unless Purdue makes a good hire and shows a commitment to the football program. While we have a new athletic director, I’m sure we’re cautiously optimistic about who Purdue will hire and how many resources they’ll put in to the football program.
