Today was the official beginning of basketball season as Big Ten Media Day took place in Washington, DC. Why DC you ask? Well, because Purdue added Maryland in the Big Ten as a naked money grab. the Big Ten Tournament is there in March, so you can expect next season’s media day to be in New York since the 2018 Big Ten Tournament is at Madison Square Garden.

Some pretyt generic stuff, but hte biggest news seems to be the confirmation that Caleb Swanigan will play the 5 when Isaac Haas is on the bench. That opens up some very interesting lineups for Purdue, especially if Jacquil Taylor can become a regular contributor this season.
Caleb Swanigan, Isaac Haas, and Vince Edwards are also on hand at media days for the individual breakout sessions, so if anything surfaces from them I will add it to this story.
