Landers is an intriguing pick up for the Boilermakers. The 6'4, 170 pound receiver is in the physical mold of 2015 commitments Anthony Mahoungou and Domo Young. He is a tall, fast kid who can go up and get the ball on the outside. In theory, he should fit in nicely with a play-action, down-the-field passing game, that Purdue, in theory, might be running under new OC Terry Malone.
Purdue identified Landers as one of their top WR targets for this class, and diligently pursued him even after he committed to Bowling Green. With Dino Babers leaving for Syracuse, Landers opened back up his recruiting, and Purdue managed to beat out Bowling Green, Louisville, and Pittsburgh for his services.
I no longer make predictions on how Landers will fit in with Purdue's sceme, or when he might see the field, but he is the sort of play maker the Boilermakers desperately need going forward. Landers caught 45 passes for 859 and 10 touchdowns last season at Dunbar, and is currently averaging 16 pts a game for Dunbar basketball team.
