Both of today's players have yet to see the field for Purdue, but could see the field this coming season quite a bit.
Anthony Mahoungou - So.
Paris, France (West Hills College)
6'3", 207 pounds
Wide Receiver
2015: Contributor at Wide Receiver
Mahoungou is the second player on the roster that comes from Europe. Paris is not often a recruiting hotbed for American football, but Mahoungou ended up in the U.S. and played last season at West Hills College. He had 41 receptions for 801 yards and nine touchdowns.
Mahoungou is a big, strong, and fast outside receiver. He has three years of eligibility remaining and if he is a breakout player this season he could become a regular contributor in the offense. It should be interesting to see him line up on the outside, as he was brought in to give Purdue a more vertical passing game.
Markus Bailey - Fr.
Columbus, OH (Hilliard Davidson HS)
6'1", 230 pounds
Lineabcker
2015 Projection: Possible Special team contributor
I am interested to see if Bailey finds a role this coming season to play immediately. He is a very good outside linebacker that had 100 tackles and three interceptions last year in Ohio. H was rated as a three-star recruit and comes to Purdue already big and strong. The Boilers appear to be set with starters at linebacker, but depth is always a good thing. I can see Dawson finding a role and avoiding a redshirt this season.
