25 Days to Purdue Football: Antonio Blackmon & Tario Fuller

A pair of freshmen look like very promising players going forward.

Yesterday was the last "empty" day on the countdown. Going forward, there will be at least one player featured every day, and on most two since the rules allow for two players to wear the same number as long as they are not on the field at the same time. That is why there is often an offensive and defensive player wearing each number.

Antonio Blackmon - Fr. (RS)

Cornerback

2015 Projection: Reserve at cornerback

Blackmon is a relative newcomer to the program, joining the team this spring as a walk-on. He ended up having a pretty good spring too. Out of necessity Purdue played a ton of walk-on cornerbacks and Blackmon looked pretty good. He ended up having four tackles and a 27-yard interception in the spring game, meaning he could be in line for some playing time this fall.

Running Back

2015 Projection: Reserve at cornerback

Given the projected depth at running back ahead of him, Fuller seems like a solid candidate to redshirt. He has some good highlights and looks like a promising prospect for the future after rushing for 1,590 yards as a junior and 1,004 yards as a senior. In his career in high school he was over 3,000 yards.
