You know the main Boilers in the NBA. Carl Landry was recently traded to the 76ers from Sacramento. E'Twaun Moore is safely in Chicago for another season. Robbie Hummel was going to re-sign with the Timberwolves, but was recently screwed over when Minnesota signed a guy from Europe with a tragic lack of vowels in his name. Those three have done well so far, but there are a few more Boilers fighting for a chance in the NBA Summer Leagues. Here is who is trying to find a spot.
JaJuan Johnson - JJ is playing for the Jazz in the summer league and recently got to face off against his former team in Boston Monday night. Utah itself is hosting a summer league this week featuring Utah, Boston, Philadelphia, and San Antonio.
Kelsey Barlow - The prodigal son returns! GDB is still trying to make it after playing in the D-League last season. He is currently on the summer league roster of the Pistons and playing in the Orlando summer league, which has 10 teams. Play for them got underway on Saturday and Barlow had 12 points, 4 assists, and 3 rebounds as Detroit lost to Miami on Monday. It was his first game for the Pistons and he definitely made an impression.
Jon Octeus - The most recent entry from Purdue is Jon Octeus, who became a fan favorite in his only season in West Lafayette and will forever be loved for posterizing Collin Hartman (and unfortunately missing a similar dunk late against Cincy in the NCAA Tourney. Octeus is playing for the Pacers in the Orlando Summer League and had 5points, 2 assists, and 2 steals in 16 minutes against Miami on Saturday.
