2016 Purdue Basketball Recruiting Scholarship Grid

So what is the recruiting situation, anyway?

Jamie Rhodes-USA TODAY Sports

As we go through the summer AAU circuit there is not a lot to comment on when it comes to Purdue basketball recruiting. The Boilers do not have a single commitment for the class of 2016, and with a quick look at the scholarship grip, it has three open spots:

As we know, this can change. If someone like Caleb Swanigan blows up in 2015-16 and goes to the NBA early it can shift things around. What we do know, however, is that Johnny Hill, A.J. Hammons, and Rapheal Davis are gone after the coming season unless one has an injury and has to redshirt.

So what does that mean for the recruiting efforts? Well, Purdue is losing a point guard, a center, and a guard/forward depending on what you view Davis as. More importantly, Haas would be entering his junior season along with P.J. Thompson. That would likely make center and point guard a strong focus. Personally, I'd like to get a volume scorer somewhere. We need another Red Button.

We will have more on this later in the week, as Casey has a post scheduled for tomorrow, but this is pretty much just your heads up.
