41 Days to Purdue Football: Jacob Theineman

Another walk-on gets his day in the sun.

Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

Yes, at this point I am having trouble coming up with different descriptions for walk-ons. They are all hard working. Most toil in obscurity without ever seeing the field. That is why we give them an audience here.

Jacob Thieneman - Fr. (RS)

Noblesville, IN (Guerin Catholic HS)

6', 205 pounds

Safety

2015 Projection: Deep reserve at safety

Thieneman is a player that comes from a program that has been up and down in its brief existence. Guerin Catholic started its program in 2006, but it has already had some good seasons. Thieneman was part of a sectional championship team his senior season despite a 2-7 regular season. When he was a sophomore Guerin came within a game of the state finals before losing to Evansville Mater Dei in the semi-state.

His recruiting profile said he had a 4.0 GPA in high school, and while he had several teammates play at smaller schools, he was able to make it on the roster here at Purdue.
