Nick Wittgren, Purdue's all-time saves leader, made his Triple-A debut with the New Orleans Zephers (Purdue and NOLA seem to have a great connection). After appearing in the Triple-A All-Star Game, Wittgren now waits to follow in the footsteps of his former teammate, Kevin Plawecki.

A season ago, Taylor struggled through recurring leg and shin injuries suffered during his high school career and was forced to sit out the remainder of the 2014-15 campaign after appearing in six games. Taylor has been cleared to resume practicing this summer and has gained about 25 pounds of muscle to his frame since his arrival last summer, standing 6 feet, 9 inches, and weighing about 240 pounds.

IU spent $673,708 in recruiting for 2013-14, the highest in the Big Ten. That's well ahead of the next-closest team, Illinois ($431,327). IU spent more than three times as much as Purdue ($197,208) and more than 10 times as much as Wisconsin ($62,082).

Some teams took some serious heat, while others got out pretty unscathed. It seems like the worst part about Purdue was that someone didn't like our brats. It could be a lot worse.

Mathias was a started by the end of the 2014-15 season, but was still limited in minutes and performance due to some medical issues. Recently, Mathias had procedures this spring to correct a deviated septum and also clean out his sinus cavities. The procedures have helped Mathias improve his conditioning and the team is hoping it will improve his overall game.
