51 Days To Purdue Football: Bearooz Yacoobi and John Strasuer

Today we profile a redshirt freshman and a promising sophomore.

Sandra Dukes-USA TODAY Sports

Today's profile is our last double shot for awhile. Both players are younger guys searching for a spot on the two deep by season's end.

Bearooz Yacoobi - Fr. (RS)

Dearborn, MI (Dearborn HS)

6'5", 297 pounds

Offensive Line

2015 Projection: Reserve on the offensive line

This is a kid with a great name. He comes from a sharp family, as he was the recipient of his high school's academic achievement award for four years in a row and his brother plays football at Penn. He was a three-year starter for Dearborn HS and was a solid shot putter as well.

We may not see Yacoobi much for awhile. Purdue is pretty solid on the offensive line right now with all five starters and some key reserves returning. He is still a quality depth player and has a lot of promise going forward.

John Strauser - So.

Champaign, IL (St. Thomas More HS)

6'2", 270 pounds

Defensive End

2015 Projection: Reserve at Defensive End

With Ryan Russell off to the NFL and Gelen Robinson sitting indefinitely due to his own dumbassery Purdue needs a pass rusher. That could be Strauser, who has already redshirted in 2013 and last year he gained experience with 12 games played on the punt team. He only had one tackle, but with some hard work he can possibly get on the field more.

Also, the trip to Madison for Purdue will be interesting for Strauser. He will be facing off against his uncle, Paul Chryst.
