With Robert Kugler, Purdue has been set at the center position for some time. He is entering his 4th and final year as a starter, however, so we need a quality backup. That is where today's player comes in.

2015 Projection: Backup Center
For all of last season, even though he was able to save his redshirt by not playing a down, Barron was listed as Kugler's backup even though he was a true freshman. He has been on campus since spring 2014, so this fall will already be his fourth semester. He came to Purdue as a 3-star recruit and this will effectively be his second season as he is groomed for taking over as the starter in 2016.
I am fine with that too. It would be nice to blow out a team or two so he can get some run with the second team. Otherwise, as long as Kugler is healthy Barron will be his understudy.
