St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Ft. Lauderdale is one of the top high school football programs not just in Florida, but in the country. They are regularly loaded with Division I talent and have won a few mythical National Titles. Famous NFL players Michael Irvin, Brian Piccolo, and Geno Atkins have played for them. So, even if you get a walk-on from them like today's player, you get a decent player.
Tyler Hartwick - Fr. (RS)
Ft. Lauderdale, FL (St. Thomas Aquinas)
6'7", 240 pounds
Tight End
2015 Projection: Reserve at Tight End
Hartwick is officially a redshirt freshman and was already a member of two stated championship teams for STA in 2010 and 2012. They then won last year's Florida state championship. In 2010 they were named a mythical national champion when he was a sophomore. He is working hard on getting himself out there, too, as he has his own website.
He makes for an interesting prospect too. At 6'7" I could see him as a nice red zone threat because of his size. He has four years to make an impact and with him being from a marquee program that's exactly what he could do.
