We're back in the game, kids!
Michigan State commit Caleb Swanigan has decommitted, source told ESPN. Hearing Purdue is strong for a landing spot.
— Jeff Goodman (@GoodmanESPN) May 7, 2015
As usual, no one has a clue what is going on here, but Swanigan never signed an LOI with the Spartans and it looks like coach Painter and Co. could be back in the mix for their first five-star pickup. Of course, Illinois, Cal, and Duke are also likely back in this thing, along with Kentucky. We can't forget the darkest of dark horses, either... Chicago State.
Okay, so we can forget Chicago State. Still, Purdue has two open scholarship for next season and plenty of room for Biggie. Should we land the point guard from Texas-Arlington We have the makings of a top 15 team and dark horse Final Four candidacy.
Of course, we're Purdue. This is usually when the rug is yanked out from under us yet again, but for now we're back in the game. Hopefully some anxious ISP trooper doesn't pull over Painter as he goes speeding down U.S. 24 towards Ft. Wayne.
