Sawyer Dawson, a 6'2, 210 pound outside linebacker from Plant City, Florida signed with Purdue and Coach Hazell today.

Overall:

Dawson is an athletic outside linebacker who excels in coverage. Don't be too concerned about his senior numbers; Dawson was sharing the field with 2 other excellent linebackers, which held down his tackle numbers. It will be interesting to see what happens with Dawson in fall camp. Purdue's linebacker depth chart is fairly established, but Dawson brings something different to the position. Dawson also has a knack for blocking kicks, which may get him on the field next year.
