A huge second half from A.J. Hammons against Vanderbilt and a dearth of games due to the holiday has the Purdue senior winning another Big Ten Player of the Week Award. He had 21 points, 10 rebounds, and 7 blocks against the Commodores, but shared the award with Bryn Forbes of Michigan State. The tiebreaker does go to A.J.'s postgame meal, however:
I love A.J. Had a chicken sandwich with bacon, cheese, and BBQ sauce in the presser.— Hammer & Rails (@HammerAndRails) December 23, 2015
As one of our other writers said in our group text that night, that is life food right there and a sandwich I would gladly eat.
So yes, we need a local West Lafayette restaurant (hint: TRIPLE XXX) to create The A.J. and market that sandwich. I just had a nice lunch and I would probably eat one.
Oh, and congrats to A.J. for the POTW award.
