Purdue Ranked No. 24 in Preseason ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll

Purdue carries its first ranking, preseason or otherwise, since the 2010-11 season.

ESPN/USA Today released the preseason college basketball poll for this coming year and our Boilers are recognized as the No. 24 team in all the land! Here is your full poll:

Some notes:

  • Purdue plays ranked teams in No. 3 Maryland (twice), No. 13 Michigan State, No. 15 Indiana, No. 17 Wisconsin, No. 20 Vanderbilt, and No. 22 Butler.
  • Remember: Purdue plays no one in the non-conference because NARRATIVES, despite playing two ranked teams and an ACC team on the road.
  • Indiana is ranked 15th because God knows why. I guess we can't all have streaky shooters who play no defense whatsoever and only one post player over 6'8" who is a good freshman, but is a freshman no less.
  • In the Others Receiving Votes category Purdue plays Michigan (twice), Iowa (twice), Ohio State, and Old Dominion.
