In a move that will surely put Morgan Burke in a tizzy because it means that alumni have to learn to drive home after dark it was announced this morning that the Purdue-Michigan State game on October 11 will carry a 3:30pm kickoff.
Let me consult an almanac for a moment...
It says that sunset on October 11in West Lafayette will occur at 7:14pm.
OH GOD! WE'RE GOING TO NEED LIGHTS! THE ALUMNI DRIVING HOME AFTER DARK ARE DOOMED!
Now that we have gotten Morgan's Worst Nightmare out of the way (though that might also involve Morgantown running out of beer) it is nice to see that Purdue gets a non-noon, non-Notre Dame kickoff for the first time in two years. The game will be broadcast on ABC/ESPN2, so it is a chance, against a marquee opponent, for the program to step forward. Expect this game to be a big one for recruiting visitors as well.
Remember: Purdue did play a much better Michigan State team really well last season, who who knows what can happen.
