2015 Purdue Football Recruiting: Tyshawn Brown

One of the Boilermaker's top targets tweeted his commitment to Purdue and we are still waiting for the coaching staff to confirm.

Jerry Lai-USA TODAY Sports

Purdue received what could be a 13th verbal commitment for the 2015 class today when Tyshawn Brown announced via twitter his intention to play for the Boilermakers.  Brown is a 6', 180 pound wide receiver from Atlanta and could be Purdue's first wide receiver commit overall for 2015.  He's a 3-star athlete according to both Rivals and 247.  We are still waiting on confirmation from the coaching staff, but their hands might be tied for a while as training camp started today. Brown also had offers from IU, Ole Miss, UAB, Virginia, Wake Forest, Wisconsin, and several other schools.

The coaching staff generally tweets "#GoldRush15" when a targeted player verbally commits, but they have yet to do so in this situation (similar to what happened with Reche Thomas).  Just like Thomas, Brown's commitment was reported by the Indianapolis Star and the Ft. Wayne News-Sentinel before we learned that it was not accepted.

Update: 8/5/14  2:51PM:  The status of Brown's commitment is unclear at this time as the coaching staff has not yet confirmed it.  I will post more when the correct information is released.  Information in this article was edited to clear up any confusion.
