With NFL Training camps in full swing there are several former players vying for a spot on a roster. Several guys are pretty locked in, but some are still trying to make it into the League either for the first time or trying to get back. Here are the players on NFL rosters right now:
Ricardo Allen - Atlanta Falcons - Cornerback - The middle round pick is trying to make it in his rookie season and has a pretty good chance.
Cliff Avril - Seattle Seahawks - Defensive End - Avril is one of the anchors on the defensive line of the defending champs. He'll play this fall.
Drew Brees - New Orleans Saints -Quarterback - By the end of week one Brees can move into fourth on the all-time NFL passing yards list, as he needs 394 yards to pass John Elway. The only ones to chase after that are Dan Marino (a little over 10,000 ahead), Peyton Manning (almost 14,000 ahead and still counting) and Brett Favre (a little over 20,000 ahead).
Bruce Gaston - Arizona Cardinals - Defensive tackle - Gaston is trying to make it as an undrafted Free Agent, so he has a long road ahead.
Nick Hardwick - San Diego Chargers - Center - Hardwick is pretty much a lock as the long-time starting center for San Diego.
Dennis Kelly - Philadelphia Eagles - Offensive tackle - Kelly was banged up last year, but is entering his third season with 10 career starts.
Ryan Kerrigan - Washington Redskins - Linebacker - The former first round pick and Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year is one of the best defenders on the Redskins.
Greg Latta - Denver Broncos - Defensive End - Latta is another undrafted free agent that is a longshot to make the roster.
Mike Neal - Green Bay Packers - Linebacker - Green bay has stuck by Neal through multiple injuries and is going to try him at linebacker this season.
Rob Ninkovich - New England Patriots - Defensive End - Ninkovich is coming off of an 8 sack season and will be a starter once again.
Uche Nwaneri - Dallas Cowboys - Offensive Guard - The long time starter in Jacksonville is trying to make it as a free agent in Dallas.
Curtis Painter - New York Giants - Quarterback - Painter completed all three passes in last night's Hall of Fame game and is trying to hang on as Eli Manning's top backup.
Kevin Pamphile - Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Offensive Tackle - Purdue's other 2014 draft pick is attempting to make the roster as a rookie.
Shaun Phillips - Tennessee Titans - Linebacker - After a season in Denver where he played in a Super Bowl Phillips signed as a free agent with Tennessee.
Bernard Pollard - Tennessee Titans - Safety - Pollard has become the most feared man in the NFL for Patriots fans, but fortunately, Tennessee does not play New England this year.
Kory Sheets - Oakland Raiders - Running Back - Last season's Grey Cup MVP winning season has given Sheets another shot south of the border. So far he only has a single NFL carry for five yards and he is now with his third team.
Kawann Short - Carolina Panthers - Defensive Tackle - Short is a promising second-year player for one of the NFL's biggest surprises last season.
Anthony Spencer - Dallas Cowboys -Defensive end - Entering his 8th season, Spencer is coming back from injury that limited him to just one game last year, but he is expected to be a starter.
