32 Days To Purdue Football: Evan Pulliam

The walk-on from Cathedral in Indianapolis could be an eventual contributor.

Jerry Lai-USA TODAY Sports

On the second day of Big Ten Media Days (which will be much harder to follow without being there) we have another walk-on as the featured player.

Evan Pulliam - So.

Indianapolis, IN (Cathedral HS)

6'2", 224 pounds

Linebacker

2014 Projection: Deep reserve at linebacker

Evan Pulliam has been on the roster for two years now, but has not played as a walk-on from one of the premier football programs in the state of Indiana. In three of his years playing at Cathedral he won a state championship, with his sophomore year being the only year in which they fell short. Even then. Cathedral reached the semi-state. His teams went 48-10, and as an interesting note, he played against Joey Warburg and Dalyn Dawkins as a senior when Cathedral played Louisville Trinity.

Cathedral often plays one of the toughest schedules in Indiana with multiple games against some of the best teams from neighboring states. That means Pulliam is definitely a potential contributor. During his time at Cathedral he played against strong Indiana powerhouses such as Ben Davis, Warren Central, Carmel, Chatard, while also playing regional greats such as Louisville Trinity, Cincinnati St. Xavier, Cincinnati Moeller.
