40 Days To Purdue Football: Kendrick Adams

The walk-on fullback is a bruising blocker that could play a larger role in 2014.

As promised, here is today's second featured player on the countdown.

Kendrick Adams - Jr.

Lilburn, GA (Taylor University)

6', 260 pounds

Fullback

2014 Projection: Deep reserve at Fullback

There is little that is known about Kendrick Adams. His official Purdue bio lists him as having played in 2011 at Taylor University in Upland, Indiana, where he had six tackles as a defensive player. He came to Purdue in 2012 and after two seasons has yet to see the field.

Still, you cannot teach size, and at 6' 260 pounds he is a big, hulking fullback that could eventually be called upon to clear the road for our smaller backs or bruise his way for a tough yard or two. After a few years in the system he could finally see the field this year in a blocking situation, but he is also behind a few scholarship fullbacks in Jonathan Curry and Brandon Cottom. Officially, however, he is the only player listed as a fullback on the roster, so that may mean a bigger role for him.
