The 2013 recruiting class had only one offensive lineman, but from what has come out of practice he is a player that, coming out of his redshirt year, could be a contributor this year as a freshman.

Offensive Line
2014 Projection: Possible starter at offensive tackle
Tretter at least looks the part of an offensive tackle, as he came to Purdue at 6'6" and over 300 pounds. He took a redshirt year to get into college football shape and it appears that the year did him some good. In high school he was a Second Team all-Ohio selection and came to Purdue after coach Hazell had offered him at Kent State and then he himself came to Purdue.
One thing that Tretter has in his corner is he is a smart player:
Tretter has a 3.7grade-point-average and scored a 29 on his ACT. He said he plans to major in biology at Purdue and pursue a career in the medical field.
Right now, Jack DeBoef and J.J. Prince are holding down the tackle spots, but much is up in the air. It is entirely possible that Tretter could start on day 1.
