We all know the offensive line play was awful last season, but there is at least one solid piece to build around coming into 2014. Center Robert Kulger is entering his third season as a starter and has generally been regarded as one of the better interior linemen in the Big Ten. With him, Purdue only has to worry about four offensive line positions instead of all five.

On Monday he was named to the spring preseason watch list for the Rimington Award. This is the trophy given tot he nation's best interior lineman, and Kugler is one of 64 players that made the preseason watch list.

Kigler had a solid season in 2013 and started seven games as a redshirt freshmen in 2012, so he is Purdue's most experienced lineman by far. He was also an Academic all-Big Ten selection in 2013. His dad is the former line coach for the Steelers and current head coach at UTEP.
