Purdue Men’s Golf Surging At NCAA Regional

Purdue men's golf is close to qualifying for next week's NCAA championships.

Andrew Redington

The second day of the NCAA Sugar Grove Regional has been kind to our Boilermaker men's golfers. We're used to seeing the women's team thriving at this time of year. This year it is the men's team doing well. The top five teams at the regional as well as the lowest individual golfer that is not on one of the top five teams will advances to the NCAA championships next weekend in Hutchinson, Kansas.

Through two rounds Purdue is in contention to move on to the Finals as they are in sixth place at the Sugar Grove Regional:

Purdue had the best day of any team on the course today, tying with California for a team score of 288 today. That was good for even par today.

On the individual leaderboard Purdue's Adam Schenk is doing very well at +1 for the weekend. He is in a logjam of an eight-way tie for second place individually, and he is six strokes behind Brian Campbell of Illinois.
