2014 Indiana HS Basketball Tournament: Wednesday Sectional Scores

I got to cover a game tonight in the Indiana HS Tournament and it was a classic. Class 4A No. 1 Carmel is the to-time defending state champion, but they got everything they could handle and more tonight against Zionsville. Zionsville led 33-26 with 1:19 left in the third quarter after a stunning 15-2 run and even held a 40-37 lead with just over two minutes left in the game, but could not hang on before losing 47-43.

There are a couple of Purdue targets that played in this game I will write about later. 2015 Mr. basketball candidate Ryan Cline is an excellent shooter for Carmel, while Derrik Smits for Zionsville turned a corner and had a very good game with 10 points and four big assists when he passed to an open three-point shooter out of the post. I'll have more on them later, but here are tonight's scores from the sectionals that have seven or eight teams in them, so two games at each site.
