2014 Purdue Basketball Recruiting: March 4 Update

Jacquil Taylor's season is over, but Dakota Mathias and Vince Edwards are alive in Ohio.

This is the first update without anything on Isaac Haas, who finished up his high school career with a loss in the Alabama state tournament before last week's update. There were still three players active in their respective tournaments, however:

Dakota Mathias - G - Elida HS, Elida, OH - Elida beat St. Mary's 49-43 on Friday night behind 14 points and 11 rebounds from Mathias. This moved Elida on to the district semifinals, which will be played Wednesday night against Kenton at Liberty-Benton. The full tournament bracket for their Region is here. Elida has the No. 1 seed in their district, which is the Toledo District that feeds into the larger state bracket.

Vince Edwards - F - Middletown HS, Franklin, OH - Middletown is all the way through to its district (Cincinnati 4) Final in Division I after winning its sectional. Middltown beat Cincinnati Princeton 82-74 in overtime, Cincinnati Winton Woods 63-53, and Cincinnati Elder 54-47. Against Elder he had 9 points, 10 rebounds, and 7 assists. Against Winton Woods he had 34 points, 11 rebounds, and two assists.Middletown plays Lakota West at Xavier's Cintas Center on Saturday night in the district final. Jacquil Taylor - F - Cambridge, MA, Beaver Country Day School - Beaver Country Day saw its season end on Saturday with a 67-61 loss to Brooks in the NEPSAC tournament. Taylor's school was the top seed in the tournament and won on Friday 44-38 over Middlesex.
