2014 Purdue Basketball Recruiting: March 10 Update

Vince Edwards is still alive, but Dakota Mathias saw his season come to an end.

Mary Langenfeld-USA TODAY Sports

It was an interesting weekend for Purdue's two commitments over in Ohio. Both players were alive in their respective District finals, but only one advanced.

Dakota Mathias - G - Elida HS, Elida, OH - Elida saw its season end with a 53-51 loss to Bath in their district final. It was a tough defeat, as Elida had already defeated Bath twice on the season. Dakota finished with 17 points, 8 rebounds, and five assists, but struggled in his final HS game. Bath played a double-team on Mathias in the final possession, and a teammate's last shot was off the mark as time expired.

Vince Edwards - F - Middletown HS, Franklin, OH - Middletown won its District final in exciting fashion, as Edwards dished off his 8th assist on the game-winning shot in a 54-53 win over Wilmington to claim its district crown.

Edwards and Middletown moves on to the regional semifinals at Xavier's Cintas Center on Wednesday night. He had 20 points, 8 assists, and 5 rebounds in the win over Wilmington.

Jacquil Taylor - F - Cambridge, MA, Beaver Country Day School - SEASON COMPLETE

Isaac Haas - C - Piedmont, AL, Hoke's Bluff HS - SEASON COMPLETE
