It is hard to believe, but the 2013-14 high school basketball seasons for our incoming players are already winding down. Isaac Haas already had his Senior night on Monday night and his team set a program record with their 23rd win of the season. That is one of many updates.

Dakota Mathias - G - Elida HS, Elida, OH - Elida had one game last weekend and it was a 60-53 victory over Kenton in the Western Buckeye League. Dakota had 25 points in the victory and people are beginning to rave about both his scoring and passing prowess. He is now 51 points away from the boys scoring record for his HS and could get it in the next few games.

Vince Edwards - F - Middletown HS, Franklin, OH - Edwards had a double weekend with a 65-61 loss to Lakota East on Friday before a 59-50 win over Princeton on Saturday. Combined with the 80-70 midweek loss at Sycamore, Saturday's win broke a three-game losing streak. Against Sycamore Edwards just missed a triple-double with 15 points, 10 rebounds, and nine assists. In Friday's game he had another 17 points and 10 rebounds. Saturday's win saw him step back slightly with 13 points, six rebounds, and five assists.

Jacquil Taylor - F - Cambridge, MA, Beaver Country Day School - Boston.com did a feature on Taylor after their recent game against Rivers, where they moved to 13-1 on the year. BCD posted three wins since the last update: 71-43 over Pengree, 56-51 over Rivers School, and 75-36 over Bancroft School. That moved them to 15-1 on the season.

Isaac Haas - C - Piedmont, AL, Hoke's Bluff HS - Weather caused havoc for their schedule of late, but Hoke's Bluff did get a 45-34 win over Sand Rock Rock on Saturday and a big game of 23 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 blocks in a 64-41 win over Geraldine. That moved them to 24-5 on the season in advance of the state tournament.
