It looks like a basketball season is over for one our incoming commitments and his next game will be as a Boilermaker in November. Isaac Haas saw his team already make an exit from the Alabama State Tournament.
Dakota Mathias - G - Elida HS, Elida, OH - Elida won its final regular season game in a thrilling 61-60 game over Celina on Friday. The victory gave Elida a share of the Western Buckeye League championship. Mathias had 31 points in the victory for Elida, who is now 19-3 heading into the Ohio state tournament. Elida begins state tournament action tonight in sectional play at Lima Senior HS. Theya re part of Ohio's Division II tournament.
Vince Edwards - F - Middletown HS, Franklin, OH - Middletown started the postseason with with a 82-74 overtime victory over Princeton, where Edwards also went off. He had 30 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 blocks, and 3 steals. The win was the opening game of their Division I sectional and they face Winton Woods tonight.
Jacquil Taylor - F - Cambridge, MA, Beaver Country Day School - Jacquil's team got an 81-64 victory over Pingree to close the regular season. They are now headed into the NEPSAC tournament starting tomorrow night.
Isaac Haas - C - Piedmont, AL, Hoke's Bluff HS - Hoke's Bluff lost its second round state tournament game 56-50 to Madison County 56-50 on Friday. The loss was to the defending state champion in Class 4A. Haas had 22 points, 10 rebounds, and 9 blocked shots as he tried to keep his team alive.
