Another position of major need was taken care of today as Corey Clements, a massive 6'8" 330 pound tackle from Mesa Community College in Arizona committed to the Boilermakers to provide immediate help on the offensive line. As a JuCo player he enters with only two years of eligibility, but he can possibly start immediately on a line that struggled to do even the most basic of offensive line things in 2013.
Clements is a three-star commit by Rivals, ESPN, and Scout, fitting the mold that Purdue has an entire class of three-star guys according to ESPN. He was originally committed to UAB, but drew interest as a JuCo from Arizona, Baylor, South Florida and North Texas. There are some concerns about his footwork and he may need to actually slim down a little, but you cannot teach size. If he is even serviceable he is a major improvement for the Boilers at tackle.
