Purdue heads into a very physical game against Wisconsin on Saturday while banged up. The Thursday injury report, courtesy of Mike Carmin at the Lafayette Journal & Courier, is quite extensive according to his Twitter feed. Here is the full list:
Joe Gilliam - LB - Out for season, torn ACL
Sean Robinson - LB - Out for season, torn ACL
Carlos Carvajal - TE - Has missed all season after torn ACL in the spring
Dan Monteroso - WR - Out with sprained knee
Da'Wan Hunte - CB -Did not travel to Nebraska, questionable with leg injury
Danny Anthrop - WR - Out for season, torn ACL
David Yancey - RB - Out for season, torn ACL (played a lot on special teams)
Frankie Williams - S - Out, Concussion
Ra'Zahn Howard - DT - Game-time decision, foot
Taylor Richards - S - questionable, foot
B.J. Knauf - WR - out, broken collarbone
Of all of these players, only Carvajal has not contributed at all this season. Purdue is especially thin at safety, where Robert Gregory may see more playing time this week with Williams definitely out and Richards battling a foot injury. At receiver we're likely going to see more of Trae Hart and Gregory Phillips, with junior Shane Mikesky also making an appearance because Knauf, Monteroso, and Anthrop out this week. Both Phillips and Hart are promising true freshmen, but Hart has only one catch and Phillips has three. Mikesky does not have a reception this season.
