Purdue Football Recruiting: Faison Commits

New, 8 comments

Tim Faison, a DE/OLB pass rushing specialist from Florida, committed to Purdue today hours after receiving an official offer.

Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

Purdue dipped back into the Sunshine State to picked up a verbal commitment from pass rushing specialist Tim Faison (DE/OLB). Faison received an official offer from Purdue earlier in the day and wasted no time committing to the Boilermakers. Tim plays for Godby High School in Tallahassee Florida, which is one of the more successful programs in the state this year.

Wait for it, Wait for it, ok here it is, Faison is an under the radar player from a good school. His best offer, other than Purdue, was from Cincinnati, followed by a pu-pu platter of small schools. Faison has had a productive year for Godby, amassing 46 tackles (9 TFL) 6 sacks, 5 QB hurries, 2 forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery. He is plays against some solid competition so his numbers are well earned. Faison is a similar player to recent Boilermaker commitment Twazanga Mugala. Coach Hazell seems to be stocking up on OLB/DE pass rushing specialists, looking for more speed off the edge from the Hybrid position.

All of Faison's highlight videos on HUDL are set to private at the moment. I'll try an update this post with a quick evaluation once I actually see a video.
