Purdue's four incoming players all had good weekends once again.

Pat Lovell-USA TODAY Sports

The present of Purdue basketball is dreary, but at least the future looks good. I know the update is late, but here is what our four commitments for 2014 did last weekend:

Dakota Mathias - G - Elida HS, Elida, OH - Dakota led Elida to an 85-61 victory over Shawnee last week in Lima, Ohio, then weather forced a cancellation of Saturday's game. Dakota had 30 points, 11 rebounds, five assists, and four steals as he continues to play well. He is averaging over 27 points per game.

Vince Edwards - F - Middletown HS, Franklin, OH - Edwards is playing tonight at Sycamore, but lost 66-60 this past week at Fairfield to break a seven game winning streak. Theya re now 11-4 on the season, but Edwards contributed 15 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, three blocks, and two steals as he continues to pack every statistical category.

Jacquil Taylor - F - Cambridge, MA, Beaver Country Day School - Taylor's team had a pair of games postponed due to weather, but beat Noble and Greenough School 61-50 on Saturday night at home. As usual, it is toughest to find a stat report on Jacquil.

Isaac Haas - C - Piedmont, AL, Hoke's Bluff HS - Hoke's Bluff is now 22-5 after a 45-42 win over Westbrook Christian and a 69-56 win over Gaston this past weekend. In the Westbrook Christian game he had 27 points and against Gaston he had 36 points, 16 rebounds, and four blocks. He had an earlier 55-45 win over Cherokee County last Tuesday where he had 32 points, 16 rebounds, and six blocks.
