The next week or so will be a little slower for me, as Mrs. T-Mill and I closed on a house on Friday. We were busy all day today preparing to paint and the next few weeks are full of fixing doors, sanding, painting, and, of course moving.
But enough about that. It's time to see what Purdue's incoming 2014 basketball recruits did this past week:
Dakota Mathias - G - Elida HS, Elida, OH - Elida earned a pair of wins this weekend over Van Wert (43-41) and Bowling Green (67-48). That brings Elida to an impressive 11-2 on the season. On Friday against Van Wert Mathias tied the game at 40-40 with just under two minutes left. It was his fifth three of the game and he finished with 19 points in the close win. Saturday's game was even better:
Dakota Mathias had 23 points and 22 boards tonight in Elida's win over Bowling Green. Wow

Vince Edwards - F - Middletown HS, Franklin, OH - Edwards' team also had a double weekend that resulted in a pair of victories. On Friday they beat Oak hills of Cincinnati 70-57. On Saturday they topped Winton Woods 61-54. Edwards approached a quadruple-double with 22 points, 12 rebounds, six assists, and four steals against Oak Hills. Saturday's win moved Middletown to 11-3 and Edwards had 23 points and 10 rebounds.
Jacquil Taylor - F - Cambridge, MA, Beaver Country Day School - Friday was another win for Beaver Country Day with a 51-42 win over Brooks School. I could not find his stats from the game, but the Boiler Sports Report has a nice scouting report on him. There was no reported score from his Saturday game.
Isaac Haas - C - Piedmont, AL, Hoke's Bluff HS - As usual, Haas had a big week as Hokes Bluff played in their county tournament. They earned a 60-37 win over Glencoe on Monday where he had 30 points, 13 rebounds, and six blocks. Against Southside on Wednesday they won 49-44 behind 16 points, nine blocks, and six rebounds from Haas. Haas plays against Tuesday night.
