Boilers in the NFL: Wild Card

Eight Boilers chase a Super Bowl.

Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

We started with eight going into Wild Card Weekend. How many Boilers remain in the playoff hunt?

DE Cliff Avril @cliffavril (Seahawks) - Bye, Next Game vs. NO, 1/11 4:35 PM ET

QB Drew Brees @drewbrees (Saints) - The Saints were 0-5 in playoff road games since the team entered the league in 1967. That streak came to a halt with a late Saints' field goal that gave them a win over the Eagles. Brees had a poor game by his standards, going 20-30 for 250 yards, with one touchdown and two interceptions. They move on to play the Seahawks.

C Nick Hardwick @hardwina (Chargers) - Hardwick suffered a concussion in last weekend's victory over the Bengals. He will need medical clearance before Sunday's game against the Broncos.

OT Dennis Kelly @DennisKelly67 (Eagles) - Kelly's Eagles lost to the Saints, ending their season.

LB Mike Neal @mneal96 (Packers) - Neal had one tackle in a defeat as he worked himself back into a reserve role.

DE Rob Ninkovich (Patriots) - Bye, Next Game vs. IND, 1/11 8:15 PM ET

DE Shaun Phillips @ShaunPhillips95 (Broncos) - Bye, Next Game vs. SD, 1/12 4:40 PM ET

DT Kawann Short @kk_mr93 (Panthers) - Bye, Next Game vs. SF, 1/12 1:05 PM ET
