Purdue still does not have another commitment of late. There were several visits that took place during the Notre Dame game, but no one has committed since Druee Tranquill committed in July. Given the current numbers Purdue does not have a ton of room. By my estimate there are 11 open scholarships for next season, so it may still be awhile before we see another commit.
Here is what the rest of Purdue's recruits did this past week week:
Gelen Robinson - Lake Central HS, IN - DE/LB - beat LaPorte 27-7 - That makes four in a row for Gelen Robinson's team, as they move to 4-1 and have given up only 15 points total in their last four games. They also lead the Duneland Athletic Conference at 3-0. La Porte had just 123 yards of total offense thanks to the defense led by Robinson.
Denzel Ward - Simeon HS, Chicago, IL - OT - Beat Lane 60-13 - Simeon gets its first victory of the season in big fashion after an offensive explosion of 60 points. Unfortunately, there is no game report other than a vague box score that indicates a 25-point third quarter.
Drue Tranquill - Carroll HS, Ft. Wayne, IN - DB/LB - Lost 27-7 to East Noble - Carroll outgained East Noble, but committed an astounding eight turnovers in the 27-7 loss. More importantly, Tranquill made his visit to Notre Dame and will try to finalize his decision soon.
David Blough - Creekview HS, Carrollton, TX - QB - HAD BYE WEEK
Austin McGehee - Pine Bluff, AR HS - P - Lost 35-14 to North Little Rock - McGehee hit three extra points for Pine Bluff, but good luck trying to find high school punting stats.
Gregory Phillips - Arabia Mountain HS, Lithonia, GA - WR - Beat Miller Grove 26-20 3OT - This was quite the exciting game, it sounds like, as Arabia Mountain moved to 2-2 on the year. Phillips caught a 46-yard touchdown to set up the tying two-point conversion for the tie.
Kirk Barron - Marian HS, Mishawaka, IN - OL - Beat South Bend Washington 34-0 - Marian is now ranked No. 5 in the state's Class 3A poll after its second straight shutout victory. Marian also leads its conference at 3-0 in league play.
Trae Hart - First Baptist Academy, Dallas, TX - WR - beat Lake Country Christian 70-0 - Hart is part of an offense that is averaging almost 69 points per game and is a convincing 3-0. Hart caught a 63-yard touchdown pass and returned punts of 25 and 35 yards for touchdowns.
