Running Back

2013 Projection: Contributor on Special teams and at running back

Of the four incoming freshmen running backs, David has possibly the best chance of contributing immediately because he already took part in the spring game. He joined John Strauser and Danny Etling as true freshmen who were able to go through spring practice after graduating high school early.

David was a very effective runner at Lake Central High in northwest Indiana and likely played a role in the recruitment of 2014 4-star defensive end Gelen Robinson. David rushed for 1,345 yards and 16 scores as a junior, then rushed for 1,168 yards and 17 scores last year before a knee injury sidelined him. In the spring he got some work as a punt returner, which is definitely an area where he can have an impact.
