54 Days to Purdue Football: Jack De Boef

Welcome to the second week in July. Mark your calendars, we are now just 54 days away from kickoff of the Darrell Hazell Era.

Jack De Boef - Jr. (RS)

Hometown: Pennsylvania Furnace, PA (State College)

Offensive Tackle

6'7", 290 pounds

2013 Projection: Reserve at Offensive Tackle

Day 54 brings our attention to Jack De Boef, a redshirt junior at offensive tackle. This large gentleman out of Pennsylvania enters the 2013 season battling for time at the offensive tackle backup position. De Boef entered last year battling with the older Trevor Foy and Justin Kitchens for time at tackle, eventually settling into a backup role.

This season, De Boef still figures to play a backup role as both Foy, Kitchens, and Kevin Pamphile return and barring injury, both starting tackle positions will be filled from that list of names. De Boef would project to play serious time next year after the graduation of Foy, Kithens, and Pamphile, but can he get a chance this year with a new coach and a new offense? He's got the size to be a force.

De Boef played center in high school and was also recruited by Michigan State, Maryland, NC State, Temple, and South Carolina. De Boef is majoring in management and you can follow him on Twitter @DeDutchMan54.
