34 Days To Purdue Football: Dezwan Polk-Campbell

Another freshman linebacker is headed to Purdue with a lot of promise.

Another freshman is the focus of today's profile, as the linebacking corps gets more helps to develop in the future.

Dezwan Polk-Campbell - Fr.

Columbus, Ohio (Whetstone HS)

6'4", 215 pounds

Linebacker

2013 Projection: Redshirt

Like Johnny Thompson yesterday, Polk-Campbell is a likely redshirt candidate this season as he tries to put some muscle on his frame. He has the height to be a good linebacker in the Big Ten, but needs another 20-30 pounds.

In high school he was a two-time all-City selection and his senior season was very impressive. He finished with 93 tackles, 34 for loss, nine sacks, an interception, five forced fumbles, and three defensive touchdowns. He has good speed since he was also a member of his high school's 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams in addition to competing in the high jump.

All this led him to being a three-star prospect, one that definitely has a bright future ahead.
