88 Days to Purdue Football: Jordan Woods

With 88 days to go until kickoff, June 6th brings us to a young man from a rival Big Ten hometown, Jordan Woods.

Jordan Woods - So. (RS)

Hometown: Ypsilanti, MI (Ann Arbor Skyline)

Wide Receiver

6'2", 175 pounds

2013 Projection: Deep Reserve at Wide Receiver

Woods hails from just outside Ann Arbor, home of the Michigan Wolverines, where he starred in not only football, but was also an all-conference member in basketball his junior year. After finishing a senior year in which he still gained over 1,100 yards with his quarterback going down in week 7, Woods contemplated enrolling early at Purdue but one thing was stopping him: being part of his high school's first graduating class. Ann Arbor Skyline first opened its doors in 2008, making Woods not only part of the school's first graduating class, but also its first Division 1 FBS football player.

The 3-star Woods is unlikely to see much of the field this year as a redshirt freshman, but does possess good size and speed (reported 4.45) that could help him earn some playing time in the upcoming seasons.

Woods also plans on majoring in communication.
