We continue the countdown to kickoff with another big, strong offensive lineman that is expected to be a building block to the new program being set up by Darrell Hazell.
Cameron Cermin - Fr. (RS)
College Station, Texas (A&M Consolodated HS)
6'5", 300 pounds
Offensive Line
2013 Projection: Reserve on Offensive line
Cermin is not the only offensive lineman we have gotten right out from under the nose of another BCS school. Cermin grew up in the shadow of Texas A&M, just as Jack DeBoef grew up in State College, PA in the shadow of Penn State. Cermin comes out of his redshirt year at a solid 6'5" 300 pounds and projects as more of an interior lineman. He was a three-star commitment that blocked on a line that averaged over 400 yards rushing per game as a junior. He was an all-District selection in Texas and an Academic All-State.
Cermin is big on potential at this point. He is a natural athlete that played basketball and baseball in addition to football in high school. I can see him becoming a starter as early as next year as the new regime reaps the benefits of some strong linemen recruited in Danny Hope's final year. Like so many before him in this countdown, Cermin is a big road-grader that has a bright future.
