70 Days To Purdue Football: Jordan Roos

Jordan Roos could move into the starting lineup this fall as a redshirt freshman.

This week has been all about potential on the offensive line. The jerseys in the 70's are loaded with young offensive linemen that redshirted last season and will have a big impact in the coming seasons for Purdue football. Today is another one of those players in Jordan Roos.

Jordan Roos - Fr. (RS)

Celina, Texas (Celina HS)

Offensive Line

6'5", 305 pounds

2013 Projection: Reserve on Offensive Line

Roos was a three-star offensive lineman that redshirted last year and was among the best line recruits in the nation by some services. His size projects him as either a guard or a tackle, but he is currently listed only as "offensive line" on the roster. Roos could be one of the stronger linemen on the roster, which might get him to the field sooner.

In high school he was a Class 3A state champion in Texas at the shot put and the discus. A knee injury (of course) limited his senior season in football, however. In spring football this year he was named as the most improved player on the offense, so I think we will see him on the field at least as a reserve this year. He could start at guard after Peters Drey left. Robert Kugler looks to have the center spot down, but that leaves at least one guard spot open for a new starter.
