Boilermakings is not making excuses

Purdue sports news, notes and links for June 11.

Since I am writing extensively about all Purdue sports this week I wanted to start off today's links with the Off Tackle Empire story about Indiana ending all Big Ten baseball program's excuses for making the College World Series. College baseball is growing in popularity. This is the first year that every game of the regional round was available to watch via ESPN, and across the country crowds are getting bigger. Purdue saw record attendance this season as the result of last year's Big Ten title run and the new stadium opening, so it can become a revenue generating sport. Even after going 17-34 last year, the time is now to sustain the momentum of 2012 in terms of interest at Purdue.
