2013 Big Ten Women's Tournament: Purdue 77, Nebraska 54

New, comments

This time, it didn't take overtime. After going six overtimes in the first three meetings since Nebraska joined the conference the Lady boilers were able to roll past the Cornhuskers 77-54 today. That gives Purdue another quality win in its NCAA Tournament profile. They will also now face Michigan State tomorrow at 4pm on Big Ten Network for their 9th Big Ten Tournament title.Purdue is already going tot he tournament regardless, but winning the automatic bid and another Big Ten Tournament championship would be very nice.

Sam Ostarello had 18 points and nine rebounds to lead Purdue today. Courtney Moses added 16 points while KK Houser had 13 points and five assists. This was a team win where Purdue had a solid first half in leading 42-31. It may have been their best half of basketball this year, in fact.Taylor Manuel, a very promising freshman, added 11 points off the bench to be the fourth player in double figures.

This is the 19th edition of the Big Ten women's basketball tournament and it is the 13th time Purdue has reached the championship game, thus making it essentially our invitational. Let's go win it tomorrow and put a 9th Big Ten Tournament championship on the ladies' side. There will be an Open thread again too.
