Boilermakings Is Sponsoring B1G Awards

Purdue Sports news, notes, and links for March 11.

I had an idea last night, so let's see how it goes. I have contacted everyone within the Big Ten SB Nation contingent and I am trying to form our own all-Big Ten Awards and such. I have encouraged the other bloggers to get me a ballot by Tuesday. For the record, here is how I voted:

First Team (each vote = 3 points): Trey Burke, Cody Zeller, Victor Oladipo, Deshaun Thomas, Brandon Paul

Second Team (each vote = 2 points): Gary Harris, Trevor Mbakwe, Roy Devyn Marble, Tim Hardaway Jr., Ben Brust

Third Team (each vote = 1 point): Aaron Craft, A.J. Hammons, D.J. Richardson, Jordan Hulls, Jermaine Marshall

Big Ten Player of the Year: Burke

Big Ten 6th Man: Will Sheehey

Big Ten Freshman of the Year: Harris

Big Ten Coach of the Year: Matt Painter

So it will be interesting to see how this ends up. Hopefully it works out.

UPDATE: Rapheal Davis has been named Big Ten Freshman of the Week:
